Around Copper Moon
Copper Moon is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in south-central Kentucky. We also have horses and a host of other critters lounging about. Please enjoy this informal look into all of the goings on around Copper Moon.

My daughters winning 4H Best In Show at the 2003 Kentucky State Fair with their English Angora Doe, Nala.

Martin the feral cat. Martin was adopted and tamed by my daughter Amanda, the cat whisperer. She clearly did a little too good of a job!
Joey the barn cat. Really! Ignore the faux fur blanket and the down pillows.....
Abby, a.k.a. Her Majesty ruler of planet Earth.
Spot and Beau plotting to overthrow the queen. (And yes, Trekies, she is named after that Spot.)
A gorgeous sunset looking out over the back of our property.
The ice storm of 2009. The event that made me realize I was not cut out to be either Amish or a pioneer woman. The inch thick coating of ice rendered us without power for close to a week. Our house is all electric which meant no heat or hot water. And to make it even more of an adventure I had a 5 day old liter of puppies!
Kathryn posing with two of the three breeds of we specialized in. She is holding a French Lop which can weigh up to 15 pounds - one BIG bunny! Next to her is an English Lop - the breed of rabbit with the longest ears on record.
Sugar and Spice Rabbitry What started as a 4H project grew into a championship rabbitry with about 50 rabbits in three different breeds. We raised well over a dozen Grand Champion rabbits and had numerous rabbits ranking in the top 20 nationally. My daughter Amanda was recognized as one of the top Jersey Wooly youth breeders before she turned 18. Due to Amanda's difficult college load (she is hoping to be accepted into vet school next fall) we no longer actively show or breed, but there are still several bunnies hopping about.
Amanda carrying the Kentucky flag in the opening ceremony of a southeastern regional competitive trail ride in North Carolina. She rode Cayenne to a 2nd place finish that day.
Amanda and Elvis at the Kentucky State Fair competing in Showmanship.
Amanda practicing on Elvis.
Our Horses We have several horses trained for sadleseat, trail, or dressage for sale. Contact Amanda if interested.
Amanda on Hershey (Friesian) at a Dressage competition.
Elvis and Cayenne are Rocky Mountain Horses.
